'In your time there was the war'

Original classification rating: G. This clip chosen to be G

Clip description

Mike (Daniel Cordeaux) is from 1985 and he just wants to go home, to Sydney. He thinks the Clan Murray are crazy hippies, but when they encounter some outsiders, the mutant wanderers, he is astounded as Katrin (Rebecca Rigg) shoots one in the shoulder with her bow and arrow. The Chieftain (Tim Elliot) tells Mike about the war that destroyed the civilized world back in the past.

Curator’s notes

Despite the dated costumes and makeup for the mutant wanderers, this is a dramatic and shocking moment when the Katrin shoots the arrow and injures the ‘wanderer’ who is only armed with a stick. Is this violence justified and what does it mean?

A magenta filter was used in shooting the scenes set in the future, which is why this clip has a pinky colour tone.
