Clip description

Miller (Richard Wilson) introduces himself to Reilly (Douglas Smith). Inviting him to join him in his outdoor hangout, Miller makes his feelings about Aggie (Jade Ewen) known. Reilly’s interest is piqued by the sight of another local, teenager Fiona McDaniel (Molly McCaffrey), on horseback.

Curator’s notes

This is Miller and Reilly’s initial meeting. Reilly, for the first time showing a softer side, take’s Miller’s eccentricity in good humour by enjoying his imaginative take on Aggie, and life in Wollemi in general. The final member of the teenage ensemble cast, Australian Fiona McDaniel, is introduced as she rides past in slow motion. Fiona’s tendency to be a loner, and Reilly’s identification with her being an 'alien’, reinforces the series’s overarching themes of individuality and difference, and the difficulties of fitting in wherever you may come from.
