Linda Stevens (Jacki Kerin) reads her mother’s diary. In 1950 Montclare was converted into a retirement home.
Curator’s notes
The past lingers ominously at Montclare. Linda has just inherited the estate and reads pages from her mother’s diary written at the time she and her sister, Rita, inherited the family mansion from their parents. Although nothing disturbing is revealed in these first pages, the slightly eerie music suggests further reading of the diary will not be as comfortable for Linda.
The soundtrack of Next of Kin was never officially released. The Klaus Schulze selection in this scene is titled 'George Traki’; the main title theme is 'Death of an Analog’.
