Clip description

Heidi Benson (Rose Byrne) approaches Maxine Summers (Rachael Blake), as Bill McCoy (Tony Martin) looks on. She wants Maxine to help her get prescription drugs – but Maxine convinces her to go to detox. Later, at Central Police Station, Maxine refuses to tell Policewomen Kim Devlin (Tammy MacIntosh) and Virginia King (Victoria Longley) where Heidi is.

Curator’s notes

These scenes are a nice illustration of the push and pull between police and crisis centre that is at the core of this episode and the series. Whilst they ostensibly have similar interests, their ways of pursuing them are miles apart.

The street scene, shot through traffic, is also an example of the camera crew’s incorporation of environment into the shoot and their use of an observational shooting style.
