Clip description

After a heavy night playing cards and drinking, Detective Joe Hill (Peter O’Brien) is woken in his car by ex-girlfriend Nicole Brown (Jodie Dry). Her new boyfriend, uniformed cop Shane Duggan (Rupert Reid), is being investigated by internal affairs over the theft of money from the wedding shooting crime scene. Nicole thinks he didn’t do it and wants Joe to help clear his name. Joe continues investigating the wedding shooting, alongside Harriet Walker (Freya Stafford), Sophia Marinkovitch (Brooke Satchwell) and Ace (Joe Petruzzi). Along the way he uncovers new information about Shane’s movements at the crime scene.

Curator’s notes

Hill’s hangover, failing personal life and ability to shine in the job regardless are hallmarks of the hard-boiled detective. Here they inject wit into the process of solving the case.
