Curator’s notes
A new order is established with Veronica snubbed and excluded and adults relegated to the outer reaches of the newly-formed club’s world. When Max asks the friends if there’s a problem, their response – 'We’ve got it covered, Max’ – reflects the autonomy of the protagonists and the appealing child-centred nature of the drama.
