Clip description
B Max has invented a robotic rabbit to keep the white rabbit company but it doesn’t work. Razzles makes a list about how to look after the rabbit, and in an animated sequence each of the dogs shows what they could do for the rabbit. This makes them realise that it is a big responsibility to care for the rabbit. The scene then cuts to a ‘Wag and Wiggle’ song and dance segment featuring the 'Raggs Kids Club Band’ being active outdoors.
Curator’s notes
This segment demonstrates some of the key characters’ personalities and skills. Inventing is B Max’s signature skill, as we see here, and he is also very adept with using his wheelchair. Making lists is Razzle’s ‘thing’ and is something she does in every story.
The 3D-animated sequence shows the dog characters being far more active and often in a range of very different settings when freed from the live-action restraints of heavy costumes and expensive studio sets. Although the colours are softer than the live-action, this looks very similar to its cartoonish appearance, which can make these segments seem rather surreal. This animation was done by Southern Star Singapore.
‘Wag and Wiggle’ is a bouncy outdoor song-and-dance segment that comes around the halfway mark in the half-hour episode, and it’s designed to get the young audience up and moving. It is also obviously a potential customised ‘drop-in’ segment, using more familiar backdrops and inserted footage of local dancing kids if required for international sales.
