Petal feast

Original classification rating: G. This clip chosen to be G

Clip description

The Petals enjoy a well-earned feast at the end of another exciting day. Boronia (Celia Ireland) denies having been scared and, showing off, gets hooked on a twig much to the gentle amusement of her fellow Petals.

Curator’s notes

Through a slow reveal of foreground grass and the use of lyrical music to set the mood, the Petals enjoy a well-earned berry feast. This regular tag at the end of each episode, where the audience join the Petals as they revisit their day, helps establish the warmth and security between this collective of disparate characters who together form their own caring and close-knit community. As the grass once again closes in, obscuring our view, this closing image leaves the audience with the sense that we have experienced a privileged glimpse into a magical world.
