Redfern, Sydney 1987. Shane Phillips works with Aboriginal children, and gives us a background to the difficulties his charges are faced with.

The reality lived by Indigenous children is one that contrasts non-Indigenous children in the context of privilege. This is an issue that fuelled the 1988 Bicentenary protest march. The footage of Shane walking through the streets of Redfern and meeting with the kids at a school, vividly captures the life there without needing further explanation.
