Clip description

Mr Edmund (Robert Grubb) breaks the peacefulness of an evening at home by bringing up Cherry’s (Rebecca Smart) dream to be a lawyer with her mother while she is ironing. Margaret Williams (Rhondda Findleton) is furious and confronts Mr Edmund out in the hallway while everyone listens at the door. She tells him to stop filling her kid’s head with silly ideas. Mr Edmund responds that it’s the best thing he could do.

The richness of the set design in this scene is noteworthy particularly in the opening shots with the emphasis on the domestic activities of each of the characters.
