Clip description
It’s a spooky night and Flea (Simon grey) and Martin (Scott Major) are outside, creeping along dressed up to scare the girls through their window, when suddenly they are terrified by the apparition of a man with an axe. They race off in shock leaving behind Flea’s fake severed hand. Mr Bretherton (jonathan Hardy) the caretaker picks it up as he stares after the boys.
Curator’s notes
This is a fun, scary scene. The set up with the moon, the use of shadows, camera angles and shots and music creates an over the top dramatic moment. I particularly like the scary – but at the same time ludicrous – close-up shot of Martin in his creepy rubber mask with his terrified eyes behind.
