Clip description

Traditional owner of Kakadu, Bill Neidjie, talks to us about growing up in Kakadu. Children are shown how to get bush tucker food.

Curator’s notes

This sequence effectively captures Bill Neidjie’s affection for, and deep knowledge of, the land. He remembers his own youth with his grandfather, underscored by the cut-in material of him teaching a new generation of children who are clearly captivated by him and what he has to show them.
