After her dramatic first visit to Australia, it’s early morning when Hannah (Lynn Styles) finally returns to her boarding school in Galway. Her roommate Tara (Danielle Fox-Clarke) is suspicious. Snooping around, she is surprised to find beach sand in Hannah’s boots.
Curator’s notes
This clip contrasts the Australian beach location with the Irish setting where half of the stories take place. Hannah’s suspicious ‘princess’ roommate Tara is a good foil for the feisty Hannah and there is clearly going to be dramatic potential in this relationship over the rest of the series. On an observational note, the character of Hannah has a lot in common with the character Saskia played by Hannah Greenwood in the ACTF production Noah and Saskia (2004).
The switches between the different countries in the story must have made continuity a huge challenge for this production. In order to create this illusion, some parts have been shot at different times and in different countries before being edited into the same time frame to complete the episode. It is very well done.
