Clip description
An SBS presenter (Marg Downey) previews upcoming TV highlights on the station, and introduces a 'Ukrainian’ film. A scene at a Ukraine Comedy Club is interrupted when the on-screen subtitles go haywire. An unseen viewer flicks channels to an American show in which comperes (Gina Riley and Michael Veitch) present weird and wonderful items sent in by viewers.
Curator’s notes
When Fast Forward was on air on Channel Seven, the multicultural and multilingual broadcaster SBS had a reputation for screening obscure art-house films and racy material that would not make it onto the commercial networks. A wonderfully deadpan Marg Downey taps into this common perception of SBS.
