Curator’s notes
Changing fashions echo changing times as this clip reveals. The zipper is ironically labelled as the cause of women’s ‘unbridled sexuality’, which is portrayed by the metamorphosis from female to male form as the zip is undone, and by the comical, pseudo-sadomasochistic image of a woman lashing a whip.
