A playful presentation of various images of women’s form in art and fashion. The woman featured in the clip is Kate Champion; voice-over narration is by Arthur Dignam.
Curator’s notes
This clip demonstrates the successful combination of live action and animated sequences in the film. The various ways in which the female form has been represented in the 20th century are indicated by a range of images, including paintings by Edvard Munch and Pablo Picasso, a live Minnie Mouse character and a naked woman in a pair of red high-heeled shoes. The early 20th century is portrayed as a period of innovation, experimentation and fun in technology, art, music, fashion and sexuality.
Thanks to the generosity of the rights holders, we are able to offer ‘Two rows of alternating teeth’ from the short film Zipper as a high quality video download.
