Clip description

Gemma (Ngaire Pigram) sits down to dinner with her young son, BJ (Jake Phillips). She doesn’t respond to Ben (Aaron Pedersen), who stands in the background, wondering why she is ignoring him.

Curator’s notes

When he confronts Gemma, Ben says that 'The boys are history – they are not my family’. In the production notes for Too Late, writer-director Michael Longbottom states that he 'felt the need to reach out to our younger generation living amongst the pressures of today’s constantly evolving society, where peer pressure can often override family commitments’. This story illustrates what can happen when that warning comes too late.
