Curator’s notes
The fluidity of line and the ability of animation to magically transform objects can be seen throughout the film. In this clip, a spinning gold coin metamorphoses into a bar table and then a flamenco dress. This technique also enables the animator to change scenes quickly and seamlessly. The transformation of the cat’s face behind the blue balloon to a goldfish bowl complete with swimming fish is a delightfully humorous sequence.
