Curator’s notes
In his efforts to belittle and humiliate Jinaali, her mean boss refuses to pronounce her name correctly, even calling her Jedda at one point (a reference to Charles Chauvel’s landmark Jedda, 1955).
The New Zealand-born Roy Billing has been a regular presence on Australian screens since the early 1990s. He won an AFI Award for playing 'Aussie Bob’ Trimbole in Underbelly – Series 2 (2009).
