Clip description

The narrator (William McInnes) introduces us to his Cousin, who has cerebral palsy, and describes some of their boyish adventures.

Curator’s notes

This sequence is an affectionate portrait of Elliot’s childhood playmate, his considerably challenged cousin. The two boys, though clearly different, share childhood innocence and the author-narrator envies Cousin for his privileges. The animation is minimal, but these introductory scenes give us an understanding of what it means to live with a disability.
