Clip description

At the advice of his working-class neighbours, Pino (Francesco Pino) visits a marriage agency, asking for ‘a wife … 24 to 42’, and ‘blonde’.

Curator’s notes

Pino’s visit to a marriage agency brings gentle, yet at the same time acute, comedic observation of a man out of step with his adopted country. While the tone is light and satiric, behind the sequence is the reality of a darker world where unscrupulous operators like a marriage agent can take advantage of the inexperienced and gullible.
