Greg (Tamblyn Lord) loves Vicki’s (Susie Porter) playfulness but also tries to dampen it down. He wonders whether he’ll ever get his medical degree because she is such a distraction. His no-sex-before-marriage attitude drives her crazy but she redirects her passion and frustration into her painting.
Curator’s notes
This early sequence entertainingly and efficiently illustrates the very different personalities of the two key characters. Greg is diligent, conservative and self-conscious. Vicki is feisty, imaginative, full of life and brimming over with sexuality. Their relationship is very believable and beautifully nuanced.
