In this cinema newsreel Australian Cricket Captain, Bill Woodfull, welcomes the English cricket team to Australia for the Ashes at the start of the 1932–33 series.
Curator’s notes
It was filmed using one camera, outside in natural light and would have been screened at cinemas. Woodfull captained the Australian team for three Ashes series – in 1930, 1932–33 and 1934 – but only the 1932–33 contest took place in Australia.
