The Duke of Edinburgh arrives outside one of the Olympic venues and is greeted by Prime Minister Robert Menzies. The beginning of the marathon is shown, as well as runners finishing the mile race in slow motion. Part of a medal ceremony is also visible. There is a shot of the Olympic flame and the official Olympic flag being lowered for the closing preparations.
