Clip description

‘Montrose’, a large property with gardens overlooking the Brisbane River, was presented to the Queensland Society for Crippled Children by Mr George Marchant. In the home, children are tended to by nursing staff. On the veranda, a girl lies on her bed in the sun and other children study at small desks. Outside on the lawns, children display handicrafts including soft toys, leather-bound books and pottery. In a different area of the gardens, boys engage in woodworking projects.
