Clip description
A staff member organises children’s activities on the upper deck of the ship. Children climb into hessian bags to participate in a jumping-sack race, while others navigate a constructed obstacle course of deck chairs and rubber tyres. A woman hands out small toys to the winners.
Curator’s notes
Dimpel’s wife, Hildegard and their daughter, Annemaria are seen sitting on the deck and looking at the camera. The family’s two other children, Andrew and Harold, are probably involved in the games seen in this clip.
