In the retreating snow of Switzerland, the Australian team have snow fights. The camera pans across the vista capturing the players throwing snow balls and chasing each other through the snow.
Curator’s notes
These are beautiful images of the Australian cricket team mischievously at play. Kelly’s camera often pans rapidly across the scenes in front of him, making it difficult at times to identify individuals. However, these spontaneous scenes capture the men playing like boys – it is a true behind-the-scenes look at the private lives of otherwise public sportsmen. It is interesting to note that many of them are still dressed in their three piece suits and hats despite being covered in snow!
