Clip description
On a cold rainy day, a crowd gathers to watch returned servicemen march in a parade on the streets of a big city. Some people stand on shopfront awnings to get a better view; others crowd on the footpaths.
A group of four horse-drawn Red Cross wagons parade down the street, each bearing the distinctive Red Cross emblem on the side of the wagon and on an accompanying flag. A brass band is followed by troops marching on foot displaying their weapons. Another marching band marches past the crowd, along with more soldiers. Both the British and Australian flags can be seen unfurling in the wind on the left of screen.
The camera captures these scenes from an elevated fixed position. The final shots show the servicemen showered with confetti and paper thrown by the crowd.
