Daniel (Daniel Connors) is sitting with Linden (Christoper Edwards). Linden asks Daniel about his Aunt Cindy and says, ’my old aunty got taken away when she was little’. He goes on to tell Daniel how the old people used to hold corroborees at the river and spoke in their own language until the mission manager stopped them. A car pulls up and Linden runs over to it. Daniel watches as a drug deal takes place. Back at Linden’s house he watches as the guys smoke the cannabis through a bong.
Curator’s notes
This scene shows both sides of the drug dealer Linden: his dealing and his love for his people, country and culture. It shows how behaviour is modelled as Daniel sits, watches and listens to Linden as he talks about the old days and as he buys, sells and uses drugs.
