play
clip A dirty, filthy beast

This clip chosen to be PG

Clip description

Mo (Roy Rene) and his friend Donald (Alex McKinnon) attempt to get jobs as lifesavers. They have to resuscitate a drowning man whose body reveals a series of surprises.

Curator’s notes

Pure vaudeville, based on meticulous timing and sight gags that will work to the back row of a large theatre. Mo’s trademarks included the phrase ‘You dirty, filthy beast’, and the way he mangles and mistakes words substituting 'recite’ for ‘resuscitate’, and getting the water out of the man’s ‘cistern’.
