The evil neighbour, Donald Lawton, has decided to blow his secret dam, after Reggie Mannister has spotted it from an aircraft. Lawton’s men light the charge as Dick Drake (Victor Jory) and Mannister (Robert Coote) search for evidence. Marion Hastings (Margaret Dare) is caught in the flood, and rescued by the daring Dick Drake.
Curator’s notes
Old-fashioned, but well constructed derring-do – finishing the film with a bang, a chase, a rescue, and eventually, a whip fight between Dick and Lawton (not shown). Note the use of miniatures in the dam burst scene, and the general absence of water in all Dick’s frantic riding-from-the-torrents scenes.
