Eddie Cleary (Steven Vidler) discovers dead birds and a mysterious black circle in a field. His brother, Richard (Ritchie Singer), hears a high-pitched tone. Local cop Skinner (Vincent Gil) mocks Richard’s attempt to find water on his dry property.
Curator’s notes
Director Rolf de Heer and cinematographer Richard Michalak use high-angle camera shots to create mystery. In sequences such as this, characters are viewed from above, giving an impression that perhaps something other-worldly is responsible for strange events and may be watching them.
