Clip description

Drunk and emotional at one o’clock in the morning, Karen (Shai Pittman) turns up at her mother’s house to confront her about their tattered relationship. A neighbour complains and Lois (Marcia Langton) comes out of the house to see her daughter.

Curator’s notes

This clip highlights the tensions and underlying issues behind many family breakdowns. For the first time in the film we see the situation from Lois’s perspective, and understand the background to her harsh stance towards her daughter.
