Clip description

Anya (Romane Bohringer) arrives at Danny’s (Noah Taylor) share house in Brisbane. Introduced to Sam (Emily Hamilton), Jabber (Haskel Daniel), Derek the Bank Clerk (Robert Rimmer) and the rest of the tenants, Anya announces she refuses to watch TV and is a vegetarian. Taylor (Alex Menglet) sets fire to the sink.

Played by French actress Romane Bohringer (from Mina Tannenbaum, 1994; The Apartment, 1996), Anya is an exotic newcomer to the rowdy Brisbane house. With her precise manner and strong convictions – no meat, no TV – Anya appears unlikely to fit into the chaotic atmosphere. But the males in the house are determined to make her welcome. Crisp performances and sharp editing maximise the comic impact.
