This clip shows two elders, Donald Kemarr Thompson and Alec Petyarr Peterson, walking through the landscape, talking about why it is important for them to tell this story. A map of the country shows where the incidents occurred. They introduce the main characters, Willaberta Jack and Harry Henty.
Curator’s notes
This clip introduces the storytellers, explains how they learnt about the story and why, from their perspective, the story should be recorded. Thompson, a senior Alyawarre man, is providing an Aboriginal oral history of the event and in doing so balances the historical record.
