‘How’s your day been sweetheart?’

This clip chosen to be PG

Clip description

It is nearly two years since Suzi Lovegrove learned she had contracted HIV/AIDS. Her husband Vince asks how her day has been. In voice-over, Vince explodes some of the myths about AIDS prevalent at the time and talks of the prejudice they have suffered. Suzi wants to reach out to people to help educate and increase understanding about the disease.

Curator’s notes

These images and the words spoken take us to the heart of the film. Vince’s voice-over provides a further account of what they have been through, not least how they have drawn strength from dealing with prejudice and fear born of ignorance. Suzi talks of her latest crisis in close-up and states why she wanted the film made.
