Curator’s notes
This clip shows a woman using a traditional bag weaving technique and harvesting, processing and preparing sago. Douglas displays a non-judgemental attitude as he moves outside his own culture and inhabits the world of the Bagwa in Papua New Guinea. In this clip he joins the men as they gather and prepare one of the Bagwa’s favourite forest foods.
