Clip description
Over a shot of Alice Springs Aaron talks about the town. Alice Springs isn’t the same to the Pedersen brothers without their Nanna. Aaron and Vinnie, sitting in the park, recall the violence of their childhood, and the experience of being shuffled around from foster home to foster home. Photographs show Aaron and Vinnie when they were young. Aaron speaks about the questioning of ‘who really loves us?’
Curator’s notes
There is an incredible openness from the Pedersen’s in regard to their childhood, feeling trapped in a situation that had little prospects. The anger at their mother, Mum Margaret, is the resonance of a childhood informed by disillusionment, confusion and a sense of unsettled being.
