This clip introduces the Jawoyn peoples attending and giving evidence at the government inquiry into mining at Coronation Hill.
Curator’s notes
Over 200 Jawoyn people attended the government inquiry, demonstrating the collective nature of Aboriginal cultural heritage. The clip highlights the knowledge and authority of three Jawoyn men, the custodians of the site, who give evidence regarding the highly religious significance of Coronation Hill.
Thanks to the generosity of the rights holders, we are able to offer Sacred site from the documentary Land of the Apocalypse as a high quality video download.
