clip Marfan syndrome

Original classification rating: M. This clip chosen to be PG

Clip description

This clip opens with a child’s drawing and a photo of Jabe as a young girl. In a black-and-white sequence, a doctor measures Jabe before we see her shopping at a Chinese market. On a model streetscape, a camera tracks to a toy hospital window to reveal a geneticist speaking about Jabe and Marfan syndrome.

Curator’s notes

In very little time, and in an entertaining way, the filmmaker explains the symptoms and dangers of Marfan syndrome. Although Jabe’s experience with her first foster family was not positive, it was thanks to them that she was diagnosed.
