Curator’s notes
The director, Janet Merewether, places her subject in abstract sets and costumed scenarios and it’s from within these that Jabe Babe tells her story both in voice-over and talking direct to camera. Merewether calls this a 'hybrid documentary’. This opening sequence sets the scene and lets the audience know they are in for a very interesting experience.
