Clip description

Author Dusko Tomic talks about how, on a Paris radio program, he identified as a Serb for the first time. While proud of Serb inventor Nikola Tesla, he expressed shame for the atrocities against humanity carried out during the Bosnian War, calling Karadzic a ‘great war criminal’ who brought horror to the world. We hear a choir performing as Tomic speaks. The clip ends with footage of the choir.

Curator’s notes

The use of the music under the author’s statement effectively underlines his words. In this scene, Tomic identifies as a Serb and makes the important point that the atrocities that have occurred during the Bosnian War have not been orchestrated by ‘great Serbs’ but rather ‘great war criminals’.
