Echidna the Survivor (1995)

The documentary looks at a year in the life of several echidnas on Kangaroo Island off the coast of South Australia. The film captures the life cycle from egg to mature adult. The short-beaked echidna (Tachyglossus aculaetus) is a monotreme in that it lays eggs and suckles its young.

Curator’s notes

A well-made clearly illustrated wildlife film. The filmmaker has captured unique footage of the life of these remarkable creatures.
