The Dawn Rowen Group works with men who have suffered childhood abuse. 75 per cent of child abuse is perpetrated by people who themselves have been abused. Kate Gilmore, spokesperson for the National Committee of Violence Against Women, says that looking for psychological causes of violence is a 'namby pamby’ approach and just an excuse for violent men. She states her belief that there can be no excuse for violent behaviour to women or children

The clip gives a good sense of how the filmmaker uses a range of techniques to deal with the complicated issues he is discussing. He uses observational footage, graphics, interviews, and voice-over comment by the filmmaker himself.
