The latest australianscreen home page ties in with an exhibition currently showing at the National Library of Australia in Canberra: The Ballets Russes in Australia 1936-40. We’re showcasing six home movies on our site all taken from the Chesterman Collection at the National Film and Sound Archive.

When the Ballets Russes toured Australia in the late 1930s, amateur filmmaker Ewan Murray-Will got to know the members of the company (some of whom stayed on in Australia) and took intimate footage of them at work and play.
