Ben Cropp rates the tiger shark and the crocodile on their ability to catch prey.
Curator’s notes
Notice that we do not see the crocodiles and sharks in the same shot as their live prey. Instead, impressive shots of crocodiles and sharks are intercut with shots of their prey to suggest a relationship in space and time between predator and prey. The editing then transitions to shots of the dead prey being eaten. Are the live animals and dead animals in fact the same creatures? It’s unclear. Cropp’s voice-over and the editing have certainly created a connection between them.
