Jill’s frustration with Max (Ivor Kants) peaks after the second day of his indirect attempts to seduce her. She reacts coldly to his offer of tea and cakes. He tells her she’s a neurotic housewife, and denies flatly that he has ever been in prison – a day after telling her he was once in jail in Melbourne for burglary. His lies unsettle her even more.
