Robert (Henri Szeps) has offered to take his mother out for a drive but leaves her in the car while he pays a call on his latest girlfriend. Meanwhile, Arthur (Garry McDonald) uses this opportunity to gather up and launder a few of the old clothes that Maggie has been hoarding in her room.
Curator’s notes
Each episode of Mother and Son is self-contained and the regular characters remain relatively static although there are often characters who appear for just one program which changes the dynamic and adds an extra dose of humour. In this case, it is Tina Bursill as the woman Robbie is pursuing as he attempts an extramarital dalliance.
