Message Stick – Koori Court (2005)

The Koori Court in Victoria was set up to reduce high imprisonment rates by combining Aboriginal beliefs with the white legal system.

Curator’s notes

This episode about the Koori Court system gives a good background as to why it was established and how it differs from mainstream courts. It also introduces the people who were involved in bringing the Koori Court into existence.

Presented by Rachel Maza, this is episode 8 in series 7 of Message Stick.
