Dynasties – The Rose Family (2003)

Bob Rose was a football legend and head of a sporting dynasty. He was one of seven sons rescued from poverty by Australian Rules Football and their story is one of great triumph and of great misfortune.

Curator’s notes

The story of the Rose family is an archetypal story of how sport can lift people out of poverty and change their lives. It’s also a story of heroism on and off the field. After an extraordinary career as a footballer, Bob Rose had to find that same courage and tenacity in dealing with his own son’s injuries after a devastating car accident left him a quadriplegic and terminated a promising football career.
